The use of Imminent Domain to take property from private citizens for public use is not something I generally support. However, because I view one of the principle roles of government is to protect the citizenry from foreign invasion, I can see how the option of Imminent Domain law is necessary. Abuse of power from government taking private lands with ID occurs when a developer wants a shopping mall that will bring hundreds of jobs to an area but does not want to pay fair prices to the private landowners who occupy the plot with the best potential for success.
